At JFS Rochester, we understand the unique needs and challenges faced by older adults, and we’re dedicated to providing the support and resources they need to maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives. Our services are designed to help seniors navigate the aging process with dignity and grace, whether that means connecting them with community resources, providing support for caregivers, or offering counseling and mental health services.

We offer a range of services that are tailored specifically to the needs of older adults. Our team of social workers can provide assistance with navigating healthcare systems and connecting seniors with healthcare providers. We also offer caregiver support, including respite resources, to help ease the burden on caregivers who are caring for an aging loved one. Additionally, we offer counseling services in the home that are designed to help seniors cope with the emotional and psychological challenges that often come with aging, such as feelings of isolation or depression. Our goal is to provide the support and resources that seniors need to continue living independently and enjoying all that life has to offer.

At JFS Rochester, we recognize the unique challenges faced by families with babies, children, and adolescents, and we’re committed to providing the support and resources they need to thrive including counseling services, connecting families with community resources, and offering support for parents and caregivers.

We offer a range of services to support the well-being and development of babies, children, and adolescents. Our team of social workers can provide counseling and mental health services to help children and adolescents navigate the challenges of growing up. We also offer support for parents and caregivers, in-home support, and referrals to community resources. Additionally, we offer care management services to help connect families with resources related to healthcare, education, and other areas of need. Families with children receive food from Brighton Food Cupboard and, through “Mini BFC”, JFS Rochester donates snacks to the Brighton Schools for students whose families do not have the financial means to provide them. Our goal is to provide the support and resources that families need to raise healthy, happy, and thriving children, and we do that by providing integrated services that address a variety of needs.

We also provide support to parents who are in need of essential services such as food, housing, or financial assistance.

Our team of social workers provide counseling services that are specifically tailored to the unique challenges that parents face. Whether it’s navigating the ups and downs of a new baby, coping with the stress and anxiety that can come with parenting, or dealing with other challenges related to parenting, we’re here to help. We also offer support for parents of children who may be experiencing anxiety or other emotional challenges, providing resources and tools to help parents better understand their child’s needs and how best to support them.

Our care management services are designed to help connect families with these resources and provide the support they need to meet their basic needs. As the Rochester area’s population ages, the number of individuals who need assistance with daily living tasks continues to grow. This often falls on the shoulders of family members and loved ones, who take on the role of caregiver. Caregiving can be both a challenging and rewarding experience, and it can be physically, emotionally, and financially taxing both during day-to-day activities and, most especially, when an emergency arises. Our services are designed to meet the unique needs of each caregiver, whether they are a spouse, child, or other family member of the older adult.

We offer a range of services to support caregivers in their caregiving journey. Our team of social workers can provide counseling services to help caregivers navigate the challenges of caring for a loved one, including stress management, communication, and coping strategies. We also offer support groups for caregivers, providing an opportunity for caregivers to connect with others who are going through similar experiences and share resources and tips for caregiving.

Additionally, we connect respite care resources to help caregivers get a break from their caregiving responsibilities and a chance to rest and recharge. Our care management services can help caregivers connect with community resources, such as transportation services, meal delivery programs, and other services that can support their loved one’s needs.
