Child & Adolescent Counseling

About the Program

Childhood and adolescence are critical stages of development that can be challenging for both young people and their families. At the Counseling Center at JFS Rochester, we offer a range of child and adolescent counseling services to support young people as they navigate emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns. Our counselors use evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help children and adolescents develop coping skills, improve their relationships, and work through difficult emotions.

Our child and adolescent counseling services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each young person and their family. The team works collaboratively with parents and caregivers to ensure that young people receive the support they need to thrive. We offer a safe and supportive environment where children and adolescents can explore their thoughts and feelings and develop the skills they need to manage stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other challenges. We strive to empower young people to live their best lives and reach their full potential.

Parents of children and adolescents with anxiety may want to explore a promising new program known as SPACE, which helps parents learn how to better identify and address their children’s anxious behavioral patterns.
