Aging Outreach Coordinator

Summary:

JFS is seeking a dynamic and compassionate candidate to join our team and make a difference in the lives of the aging population we serve. You’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one and in groups, providing support services, social programming and outreach to the community. Full-time or Part-time. Rate: $18.27 – $21 / hour. Generous benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Coordination

  • Engage deeply with a diverse population of seniors including Holocaust survivors, immigrants, and refugees.
  • Create programming & oversee group activities that promote physical, mental, emotional & social wellness.
  • Lead outreach efforts to increase resident engagement and participation including home visits, phone calls and communication with residents at scheduled events.
  • Create programming which is accessible to non-English speakers.
  • Create and disseminates a monthly activity calendar.
  • Obtain feedback from residents on their experiences and needs.
  • Develop strong partnerships with local providers who provide on-site programing to enhance the day to day lives with seniors.
  • Completes administrative tasks to support programming.
    • Assists with the resident registration process.
    • Coordinates refreshments as needed.
    • Prepares, completes, and monitors attendance for all activities.
    • Documents resident participation and case notes in the agency database system.

Virtual Senior Center

  • Recruit, enroll and provide support to seniors to enable their access to a vibrant, virtual enrichment platform
  • Coordinate and maintain the lending of iPads, ensuring that all agreements and records are maintained.
  • Provide technical support and basic computer 101 and/or Zoom 101 classes for interested residents.
  • Creates and offers zoom classes to the participants.

Other Duties

  • Attends supervision, staff meetings, and staff development trainings. 
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

  • AAS degree in human services or related experience.
  • Two years of experience in an administrative support position or related experience.
  • Must have excellent organizational and technological skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong networking/outreach skills, communication, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities include critical thinking skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality, ability to work resourcefully.
  • Previous experience working with Holocaust survivors a plus.
  • Russian speaking a plus.
  • Must have a driver’s license and a reliable car.
