Connections for Older Adults

About the Program

It’s critical for all of us to stay connected to others as we age. That’s why JFS Rochester provides Connections for Older Adults, which includes two unique programs: Friendly Connections and JFS Connects. These programs are designed to provide ongoing connections and support for Rochester’s older adults, helping them avoid the damaging effects of isolation and play an active role in our community.

The Friendly Connections program matches older adults with volunteers who provide regular check-ins, offer comfort and companionship, and engage in meaningful conversations. Whether it’s a weekly phone call or video visit, our volunteers help seniors stay connected with the world around them, build new friendships, and feel supported in their daily lives.

JFS Connects is a Virtual Senior Center that connects seniors with new friends and resources in our community and beyond. Through this program, older adults can participate in a wide range of virtual activities and events, including fitness classes, educational workshops, and social gatherings. By leveraging technology, JFS Connects helps seniors stay engaged, active, and connected, regardless of their physical abilities or location.
