Accessibility & Inclusion Services

About the Program

JFS Rochester is committed to promoting accessibility and inclusion for all members of the Jewish community, including those with disabilities. We partner with local synagogues and Jewish communal agencies to raise awareness and advocate for the needs of Jewish people with disabilities and their families. We also provide resources and support to help individuals with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and their families navigate complex systems and access necessary services.

Our team works closely with individuals, families, and community organizations to identify barriers to accessibility and inclusion, and develop strategies to overcome them. We offer information and education about disability rights and resources, as well as trainings for professionals and community members to improve their understanding of disability issues. Additionally, we work to ensure that local Jewish institutions and events are accessible to individuals with disabilities, and can provide accommodations and support as needed.

At JFS Rochester, we believe that everyone has the right to full inclusion and participation in their community, regardless of ability. We are committed to working with our partners and the community to promote accessibility and create a more inclusive society for all.
