The Literacy Program at JFS

About the Program

The Literacy Program at JFS aims to promote a love of reading and support literacy in the Rochester community. The program partners with schools in the Rochester City School District, where volunteers are matched with students to provide one-on-one reading support. Volunteers are trained and supervised to work with students from kindergarten to third grade to improve their reading comprehension and help them achieve grade-level reading goals. By fostering a love of reading and supporting literacy, the Literacy Program at JFS helps students succeed in their academic pursuits and beyond.
