Emergency Financial Assistance

About the Program

Emergency Financial Assistance JFS Rochester recognizes that unexpected financial emergencies can happen to anyone at any time, and they can have a major impact on one’s ability to make ends meet. Our Emergency Financial Assistance program is designed to help ease that burden by helping people have the resources they need to gain or maintain employment. The program provides one-time financial assistance for basic needs, such as rent, utilities, and groceries, to help individuals and families in crisis stabilize their situation as they secure ongoing paid employment.  JFS Rochester also connects individuals and families with other potential resources in the community, including government programs and nonprofit organizations, to help them access additional support and assistance to meet their basic needs. Whether it’s respite care, housing and clothing needs, mental health support, or parenting guidance, JFS Rochester care managers will help you identify what will be most helpful.
